Weekend freight from Caliente to Rosamond.

I spent day two of a trip to Mountain Valley Airport in Tehachapi pacing UP and BNSF freights along the Mojave division, across the Tehachapi Pass and down into the Mojave basin. Shots are from Caliente, Keene, Walong, Monolith, and Rosamond.

A BNSF manifest with UP locos in tow rounds the curve into Caliente, slowing down before the tight hairpin turn and climb up towards Keene.

A UP stacktrain glides down the slope into Caliente.

Meeting the same BNSF train at Keene......

......and again in the famed Tehachapi Loop at Walong.

An SD70ACE in Armour Yellow leads a manifest out of Tehachapi and towards CP Monolith before descending into Mojave.

A UP manifest bookended by AC44CWs runs northwest to Mojave.

Railfanning Yorba Linda

A westbound Metrolink F125

A pair of light engines, perhaps helpers on the way back to Hobart.

The BNSF mainline through Yorba Linda is BNSF's gateway to the Port of LA and Long Beach so this line is home to tons of hot intermodal units.
